Yeah, I think Xander is pretty tired...it's not uncommon in post-Chosen fanfic for him to be kind of worn like this, so I'm definitely not being original. But to me, he has the potential to be so different now from who he was early in the show, which was kind of goofy but very hard-edged in terms of making judgements of people/vampires. That really didn't change too much in the series, but somehow I imagine Spike saving his 2nd eye and Anya dying forcing him to turn inwards and rethink. Or not think at all, in this case.
