I have two right now, down from three for the last eight years or so, and there's nothing they like better than to be underfoot at inappropriate times!! I don't know how you manage with nine, that must be quite the household. =)
Somehow when I picture Spike & Xander together, they have a cat. And one of them is always reluctant but secretly kind of likes having a kitty.
